The pop shoppe and a wee surprise…

    Rowan was exhausted from Sloanes’ latest yoga class (she sure loved pushing those chaturangas) haha, but she was excited to get to the little choclit shoppe so she could meet up with her besties and plan a small surprise!! Don't we all adore surprises?!

Rowan settled on a coke and a hot dog.

Luchien was already there noshing on an acai frozen yogurt mixed with a ton of fruit pieces and candied bits. Yummy!!

Nastassja got to the table late as she waited so-long for her falafel. Oh well shes here now looking good and smelling even better! Teehee!

   Later that evening the three friends decided to ambush the twins with a very small and intimate party for their 23 birthday that just passed. Harlon was always busy with her writing and her beaux, Micah; and Boa was always working at her make -up craft, so their shared celebration went by unnoticed by all…until now! See the girls usually celebrate by baking themselves a cake but because the kitchen is in total destruction mode, well.. you get the idea.. so this year the three girls made a cheap boxed cake and iced it themselves, got a few presents to give and they are finally prepared to surprise the twins… What fun!!! Stay tuned…

Feelin’ Zen…

    As we all anxiously await our new kitchen of course life goes on; so I thought Id show you some other parts of my girls lives… Sloane Sillsbury is a yoga teacher and Rowan Leking is an eager student:

 

After a little sun salutation and abit of downward dog its time to cool down with some sweet vanilla scented candles and some cool and crisp iced cucumber water. Once the girls have had a quick break Sloane will lead Rowan thru a mild meditation and a sprinkle of silliness:

Balancing workouts, play and diet is extremely important for both gals so Sloane grabs a healthy snack of shrimp cocktail while Rowan heads to the diner to meet with friends…

Gosh that looks delicious!

Mini verses Mini…

    Rowan was as eager as any of the girls to feature in my next post especially as it would include a dessert Im kinda known for : Rice Krispie squares.. ( they are front and centre on my business cards in all their moist and fluffy glory…) So I gladly allowed Rowan to do it and here it is…

   As much as my friends know me for loving cake and all things bakeable.. ahem…Rowan is known for all things healthy: shes active in and out of the gym and maintains a strict diet but when i make my squares she cant resist..

Her real lashes and chesnut hair grabbed my imagination immediately and i had to have her, isnt she a beauty?

To start we need our marshmallow cereal, real marshmallows and butter. Mix the melted butter and marshmallows till smooth:

Then add your dry cereal. Stir until coated: 

   Spread it thickly into a square pan and cool in the refrigerator. Cut into squares when done:

Okay I LOVE these!! I was super pleased to find this set and i think the little kit is perfect! Easy with a delightful end product! Buuuuuuuut…

I guess I gotta show you mine.. so i will; which ones do y’all love more??!!

A ‘just chill’ kinda morning…

   Harlon sits in what remains as the kitchen while waiting patiently for the reconstruct to be finished! A cold, dry breakfast awaits beside a hot cup of black expresso, both unsatisfactory as someone has used all but a dribble of the almond milk. Sigh* Without her designer appliances and a mess of kitchen instruments everywhere she has set out to create something for our blog anyways.. 

First up is a plate of chilled cheeses and various fresh breads and crackers with a mix of crisp apples, sweet juicy strawberries and ripe blueberries throughout. This will come in handy as friends and neighbours drop in during the day slinging Christmas cheer.

Also on the menu are these adorable no bake- just chill Sugared Christmas cookies! 

So the girls have all decided to try and contribute something to the blog with or without our new digs..Up next Boa displays what she did with all the almond milk this morning!

Almond milk, fresh strawberries and loaded strawberry ice cream makes the best milkshakes. Top with whipped cream and cherries ..

Next is one of Boas favorite homemade chrsistmas gifts: a mug of no bake- just chill chocolate cream pie ingredients!

Mix the melted butter with the graham crumbs till moist, press into pan, add chocolate chips to equal parts cream cheese and whipped cream; spoon into pie shell, top with more whipped cream then, chillax till its done!

Another wee introduction…

 

  Hey y’all! Today I have the pleasure of introducing one of my very favourite dolls: Miss Boa Hill! She is considered Harlons little sister even tho they are twins as Boa was born second, a few minutes later than her identical twin sister. And you could say she has been playing catch up since birth; Boa is always busy, constantly on the go wether she is doing brilliant make up applications as a master make up artist, sorting thru trends concerning fashion or learning a new skill. She is a tough one to pin down unless its a family request or a clients business proposal. Family and friends are held fiercely close and she never lets her clients down when they call with emergencies real or imagined. Boa can be described as extremely thoughtful, one who loves without reserve and deeply dedicated to perfecting her craft. She is bold and serious about glamour yet she exudes an air of shyness you can literally see when she smiles. Harlon and Boa’s smile is the best way to tell them apart: Harlons smile is big and shows her teeth where as Boa’s smile is often shy hesitant and demure with her lips closed. A temperament and personality full of contradiction, thats my girls to a tee…

Favourite color: silver and gold

A little Introduction…

   Hi! Hello and thank you for taking the time to indulge with me into a blog dedicated to two of my favourite things: Barbie dolls and making miniature clay food..best yet there is no calories and clean up is a breeze! Originally I was going to wait till January to post my first blog as my girls are having their kitchen totally renovated (actually its in the mail during our postal strike) but I thought it would be an opportune time for a short introduction to each of my girls, so lets get started:

I was going to introduce Boa (Harlan's ‘little’ twin sister) but that girl can hardly ever be rounded up.. y’all will meet her next week anyways as it is the twins’ birthday this month and a birthday cake is on the agenda!
